Tallest Observation Wheels in the World (2016)

Not ranked: Dubai Eye - 689 ft. (210 m) The United Arab Emirates city already has the world's tallest building. And it will soon have the world's tallest observation wheel (until the next big one comes along). It's unclear when it might open, but construction has begun, and the Dubai Eye could be spinning by late 2015 or early 2016. It will be located on a man-made island. Not ranked: New York Wheel - 625 ft. (191 m)Scheduled to open in 2017, plans call for the New York Wheel to be located on the banks of Staten Island, near the dock of the Staten Island Ferry. It would offer incredible views of the Manhattan skyline. At a cost of $230 million, the wheel would accommodate an impressive 1,440 passengers per ride. The length of the ride would be an estimated 38 minutes. Number 1: High Roller - 550 ft. (168 m) Located at the LINQ Hotel and Casino along Las Vegas' famed Strip, the High Roller opened in 2014.
